Mom and baby lactation consult in Victoria, BC

Your Questions Answered

  • I am a Registered Midwife with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

  • Some insurance companies have extended benefits and do cover visits with an IBCLC. Please check with your insurance provider. We do not do direct billing, but will provide an invoice that you can submit.

  • MSP in British Columbia covers midwives to do consults for another midwife or GP in their area and only until 6 weeks postpartum. This requires written approval from your primary care provider. If you would like to try having it billed under MSP and live in the Victoria area, please contact us @ info@villagelactation.ca

  • Absolutely. I offer bottle-feeding troubleshooting. Whether your baby is not feeding well on the bottle or you are having a hard time getting in enough volume, I’d be happy to work with you.

  • Yes. I can work with families who wish to stop their milk supply, particularly in the first 2 months. Weaning an older child requires different skill sets and my focus is primarily on prenatal preparation and the first 8 weeks.

  • I provide care in the first 12 weeks postpartum.

  • You will get a full summary of our conversation in an easy to read PDF with actionable steps to work on before our follow-up where we will continue to progress in the plan. Most of my feeding plans are done in stages.

  • Coming Soon.

Our online prenatal breastfeeding course is titled “Breastfeeding Breakthrough: Why the first week matters most”.

In this course, geared towards expectant families, I walk you through how to prepare to feed your baby and what to expect in the first few weeks. We will also discuss troubleshooting common issues and how a support person or partner can help.
